WELCOME TO THE CITY OF WACO ONLINE APPLICATION Thank you for your interest in a career with the City of Waco. Professions in City government support many aspects of life in Waco. INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING AND SUBMITTING YOUR APPLICATION: An email address is required. If you do not have an email address, you may set one up at a free site (Yahoo, Google, Hotmail, AOL, etc.) You will be required to create a profile when you click on "Apply." You will receive a confirmation email with your pin number which will be used to log in and check your application status. Please remember to save your information frequently as you go through the application process (i.e. education information, work history etc.) The system will remind you of the required fields before allowing you to move on to the next question; errors will be noted by a red asterisk (*) Be sure to include all related qualifications to assist the hiring manager in evaluating your application for employment, i.e., education, work experience, certifications, licenses, etc. All information entered on the application is subject to verification. Falsification or omission may disqualify your application for further consideration. Once the application has been submitted, you will see a message at the top of the page that states your application has been submitted. Your application can be saved and used to apply for future positions. Some positions require assessment testing. All testing is done in HR from 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday. HR is located at 300 Austin Avenue, 1st floor of City Hall. Testing scores are valid for 12 months. Applications will only be considered if experience and educational requirements are achieved. A resume may be submitted along with an application, but not in lieu of one. If a resume is attached, all questions on the application must still be answered completely. Do not use the comment "See Resume" on the application. Resumes with a personal photo will not be accepted. If a position requests specific certifications or education minimum requirements, please be sure to attach copies of any certificates, transcripts, or other job related materials (such as DD214) along with the completed job application. Applications for employment are reviewed by the hiring supervisor(s). Applicants can check the status of their application by login to Munis portable by using their name, zip code and a PIN number. Unsuccessful applicants will be notified via email when a position they applied for has been filled. Applications will only receive final consideration for a position if the testing, experience, and educational requirements are met. Any applicant who receives a contingent job offer will be required to complete a pre-employment physical, which includes a drug screen. Applicants who have been convicted of a felony in the last five years; or a misdemeanor in the last three years; or who are currently on probation, deferred adjudication or parole will not be considered for employment. For Felony convictions occurring more than 5 years ago and misdemeanors occurring more than 3 years ago, an individualized assessment will be conducted in order to determine job fitness for risk sensitive job types, such as those responsible for financial transactions, handling confidential information, and working with vulnerable populations. Applicants who have a Sex Offender conviction will not be considered for employment by the City of Waco. Finalists for any position are subject to a background investigation.
