Role of Position: It is the role of every person at Central Faith to treat staff, families and children with respect and dignity. Everyone is encouraged to continually learn and identify strategies to improve the service provided to families. Everyone is to work together to maximize the achievement of our vision and mission. All Central Faith personnel are required to build positive relationships with families’ children and to act as a link between the family and community.

Familiar with state and federal laws and regulations (Minimum Standards, Food Program)
High school diploma and be over age 19
At least 1 year of child care experience in a licensed center, preferably at Central Faith
Experience with Conscious Discipline® and DAP
Must not be on probation or had a write-up within the last 90 days
Teacher Aide and Sub/floaters assigned in your room if the lead teacher is unavailable
Provide feedback for Lead Teacher Evaluation/Review

Essential Job Functions:
Ø Provide a setting where children will feel free to interact with each other and with the teacher in an appropriate and respectful manner.
Ø Conduct activities that will give all students the opportunity to develop in all areas of learning
Ø Use principles and practices of Conscious Discipline® philosophy in all situations involving instruction, behavior and student management.
Ø Seek to build strong relationships with all family members
Ø Communicate clearly and in a timely manner with other team members regarding any family information that is provided
Ø Input Kid Report information accurately each day
Ø Communicate with all staff to maintain positive and effective team. (Be a positive role model to co-workers and children.) Conduct oneself in a professional manner at all times, but especially during school hours/events
Ø Participate in staff meetings and special events.
Ø Follow Central Faith policies, and procedures.
Ø Perform other duties as assigned that are consistent with the general requirements and qualifications for the position.
Ø Use Frog Street Press Curriculum, CD Baby Doll Circle Time, Baby Signs and Bible Stories
Ø Have good classroom management
Ø Follow daily lesson plan/schedule for classroom activities; respond appropriately, encourage and help children as needed and interact with children in a positive manner
Ø Supervise and keep safe a group of children to maintain child/staff ratio
Ø Communicate with the lead teacher and families
Ø Follow minimum standards, food program policies, personnel and family procedures
Ø Assist with compliance, sanitation, building & grounds to keep facility in good condition to meet local, federal and state standards.
Ø Assist with fire, intruder and severe weather drills and emergencies
Ø Respect the confidentiality of the childcare families and personnel
Ø Promote the image and reputation of Central Faith & Provide excellent customer service
Ø Keep classroom/school clean, organized and in compliance with minimum standards at all times
Ø Follow procedures in the Family & Employee Resource Handbooks
Ø Substitute for Lead Teacher when they are unavailable and supervise staff if necessary
