Fleet Asset Recovery Program Coordinator – CDL | General Services | Job Number 2021-01625

Salary: $33,924.80 Annually
Under basic supervision, supervises the staff and functions of the asset recovery program for Fleet Services (FS), including disposal of surplus vehicles and equipment.

Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, the following:
Coordinates the asset recovery program; coordinates the sale and disposal of surplus vehicles, equipment, scrap metals and miscellaneous items; prepares and processes technical and legal forms; manages the auction processes; performs duties in compliance with all City policies and state and federal regulations.
Coordinates and receives the receipt of surplus and forfeiture items; documents receipt of items; maintains proper accountability of items; determines proper disposal method; generates and maintains proper documentation in compliance with all City polices and state and federal regulations.
Assists with budget preparation and administration; tracks fuel costs, charges and usage; compiles operational and financial information for reports.
Supports the relationship between the City of Waco and the general public by demonstrating courteous and cooperative behavior when interacting with citizens, visitors and City staff; maintains confidentiality of work-related issues and City information.
Performs other related and assigned duties as required.
Driving is essential.
Operation of automotive and off-road vehicles and equipment
Identifying defects and interpreting equipment inspection reports
Research fair market value to determine minimum bid requirements
City policies and procedures
State and federal laws on abandoned property and forfeiture
Pulling, loading, and securing trailered items and equipment
Safely loading and unloading items utilizing motorized equipment (i.e. forklifts, backhoes, and loaders)
Performing minor maintenance on vehicles and equipment, checking and replenishing fluids, tire inflation, replacing batteries, jump starting vehicles, and replacing light bulbs
Creating accurate detailed descriptions of items offered for auction
Processing and organizing numerous items in an orderly fashion for storage, sale, and disposal
Assessing and prioritizing multiple tasks, projects and demands
Operating a personal computer utilizing standard and specialized software
Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers
Communicating effectively verbally and in writing
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Two year’s work experience in fleet management programs. A minimum of 30 college credit hours within a relatable field will be considered towards work experience.
Must possess a valid Texas Class A Commercial Driver’s License.
Both indoors and outdoors
Major activities are performed indoors and/or outdoors and may be exposed to all weather conditions.
Requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently and/or a up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
