GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Assist the head baseball coach in the implementation of plans to insure success for MCC’s baseball student athletes. Assist in the coordination of recruiting strategies of prospective student athletes for the baseball program and monitoring their academic progress and to teach college level or developmental classes. Assist in the supervision of student athletes during study hall and in the weight program. Eight hours per week other duties on campus (working the fitness room). Also serves as liaison to property manager, athletic director and serves as emergency point of contact. This position receives general supervision from the Head Baseball Coach and exercises no supervision.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.

The game of baseball and how to train and develop athletes in the game. 2. How to maintain a baseball field. 3. How to evaluate potential student-athletes. 4. How to maintain a budget. Skills in: 5. Organizing and developing programs that will develop better students-athletes. 6. Leadership and management. 7. Organization and prioritization. Ability to: 8. Perform baseball related activities (ie. Throwing batting practice and hit fungo). 9. Physically help with field work. 10. Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing. 11. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. 12. Assist with off-seasoning conditioning and strength programs. 13. Recruit student athletes nationwide. Interpret and apply Federal, State, athletic conference, and college laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
Restricted: Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 30 lbs.), some walking, pushing, and pulling on a regular basis. Unpleasant Exposure Minor Hazard: Moderate exposure to dust, grease, noise, inclement weather, temperature extremes, and unpleasant but not hazardous odors. Occasional exposure to risk controlled by safety precautions. Frequency or severity are limited.
