GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Assists the department in disseminating information about the college to the campus community, media, and the public. Researching, writing, proofreading, and editing content. Curates and manages college social media accounts. This position receives general supervision from the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications and exercises no supervision.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. (a minimum of 12 college credits plus relevant work experience may be substituted for required degree)
Experience: More than one year of professional work experience.
Knowledge of: 1. Marketing. 2. Microsoft Office Suite. 3. AP and MLA writing styles. 4. Social Media platforms. 5. English usage, grammar, and punctuation. 6. Multitasking and organizing projects. Skills in: 7. Copywriting and command over various social media platforms. Ability to: 8. Operate computer software and manage simultaneous projects and activities. 9. Communicate clearly, both orally and in writing. 10. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Insignificant effort other than normal movement. Minimal Hazard/Exposure: Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
