GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Identify the needs in health care and human services within the McLennan Community College (MCC) service area. Plan, design, coordinate, implement, offer, and evaluate courses, workshops, seminars, conferences, and other activities in health care and human services. Facilitate and promote community awareness of the college’s programs. This position receives general supervision from the Director, Continuing Education and exercise supervision over support and professional staff.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS :
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Public Health, Health Education, Health Promotion, Nutrition, Community Health, and Education from an accredited institution.
Experience: Three or more years of professional work experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas.
Experience: Minimum of two years of nursing experience, with at least one year of providing long-term care services in a facility.

Knowledge of: 1. Organizational and management practices as applied to the analysis and evaluation of health and human services programs, policies, and operational needs. 2. Principles and practices of organization, administration, and personnel management. 3. Principles and practices of budget preparation and administration. 4. Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation. Skills to: 5. Assign and supervise personnel. 6. Prepare and coordinate course schedules and reports (time, attendance, payroll, required state forms, etc.) 7. Interpret and apply State, Federal, and College policies, procedures, laws and regulations. 8. Secure instructional resources. Ability to: 9. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. 10. Organize, direct, and implement comprehensive health and human services continuing education programs. 11. Effectively administer a variety of health and human services activities. 12. Analyze problems, identify alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions, and implement recommendations in support of goals. Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work, both within and outside McLennan Community College environs.
Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Insignificant effort other than normal movement. Minimal Hazard/Exposure: Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
