GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
Provides support to the Project Director and professional staff and maintains Student Support Services Project (SSSP) records in accordance with applicable federal, state and college rules, laws and regulations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: daily office management and oversight of student appointment scheduling, providing information about the TRIO SSS program, database maintenance, assisting the Project Director with budget reconciliation and requisition of supplies, assisting with the planning and promotion of SSS programs, and assisting with the federal Annual Performance Report. Ensures consistent, efficient and timely delivery of services and maintains a comfortable environment for students. This position receives direction from the Project Director, Student Support Services and exercises no supervision.
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: At least two years of work experience in an office setting or higher education, including work study, graduate work, and internships.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Associate degree from an accredited college or university in Office Administration or related field of study.
Knowledge of: 1. English usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation. 2. Modern office procedures, methods, and computer equipment. 3. Basic computer operations and database management. 4. Microsoft Office and Google Suite applications. Skills in: 5. Office management and professional workplace etiquette. 6. Keyboarding and ability to navigate multiple computer programs. 7. Multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Ability to: 8. Perform office management work, data entry, and application processing. 9. Apply federal, state, and college rules, laws, and regulations. 10. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work. 11. Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. 12. Understand and follow oral and written instructions. 13. Learn and utilize new technologies. 14. Take messages accurately from a variety of sources such as telephone, e-mail, and voicemail, and communicate information in a true and concise manner. 15. Perform a variety of tasks under time constraints. 16. Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Sedentary-Desk work; occasional field trips e.g. for college or program activities. Insignificant effort other than normal movement. Minimal Hazard/Exposure: Standard office setting. At least minimal environmental controls to assure health and comfort.
