GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The purpose of this position is to assist in the feeding and management of horses, as well as general barn and stall cleaning at the Highlander Ranch. Receives general supervision from the Barn Manager and exercises no supervision.
*Employee may not work more than 19.5 hours per week.*
NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High School diploma or GED.
Experience: Any combination of experience or training, formal or informal, to perform responsibilities listed.
Ability to: 1. Catch, halter, lead and turn out horses. 2. Operate/drive ranch implements. 3. Follow feed schedule. 4. Follow barn management schedule.
Exertive: Significant exertion on a daily basis. Awkward postures and work positions; Sustained activities require strength (e.g. using tools); Frequent moderate lifting (50-75 lbs.); Unpleasant exposure to dust grease; noise, inclement weather, temperature extremes, and unpleasant but not hazardous odors. Occasional exposure to risk controlled by safety precautions. Frequency or severity are limited.
Part-Time Retirement. Participation in Medicare Part A, but not Social Security (FICA).
