Texas State Technical College is currently seeking a Building Construction Instructor. Do you have a passion for making a difference in a student’s life? If you have excellent communication skills, and the following skill set, then we urge you to apply to the following position. The Building Construction Instructor is responsible for providing quality instruction to students by ensuring student satisfaction through the classroom and/or laboratory setting according to program objectives. The instructor conducts activities, which directly support the objectives of the program, and the institutional goals of the institution. This instructor reports to the program chair.
Teach students basic to advance level construction and carpentry objectives.
Develop lesson plans based from course objectives.
Grade and assess students of practical experience and based from post and pre training.
Instruction in a construction science environment class and labs.
Organize and present prepared instructional materials at scheduled times and places.
Maintain communications with students and colleagues to assure efficient and effective instruction.
Maintain records of student attendance, student progress, departmental supplies, departmental equipment, and others.
Maintain discipline and order during instructional activities.
Must have 3 years’ experience in related field on instruction.
Minimum of an associate’s degree OR approved alternate certifications & training and a minimum of 5 years of experience in a building/construction-related field or industry
Education/ formal train the trainer experience
Knowledge, skill, and education in construction and carpentry.
Field experience and education in blueprint reading, roofing, floor, wall systems
Fundamental experience in green technology of structures.
Dependent on skills and experience.
Security sensitive position.
